Vehicle Body Builders

Vehicle body builders manufacture purpose built trailers from engineering plans. They construct complex frameworks which are then welded, glued and bolted to the vehicle's chassis. SATB specialise in different trailer manufacturing. They also maintain and rebuild purpose built trailers.

Electricians

Electricians at SA Truck Bodies install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls within manufacturing environments.

Millwrights

A Millwright installs, dismantles, maintains, repairs, reassembles, and moves machinery in factories. A Millwright deals with electrical and mechanical aspects of the job.

Diesel Mechanics

Diesel mechanics inspect, repair, overhaul trucks and forklifts. They also maintain and repair any type of diesel engine.

Fitters & Turners

Fitters & Turners skilled crafts people who manufacture and construct components for machinery and use power operated tools such as lathes, milling- and drilling machines. They maintain and repair many different kinds of machines. They are also responsible for the assembling and fitting of new components and equipment.

Requirements to become an Apprentice

  •  Grade 12 (Matric) with Afrikaans/English
  •  Grade 12 OR N2 mathematics AND Physical Science
  •  Code 8 drivers license

Who can apply for an Apprenticeship?

Anyone can apply for an apprenticeship as long as you have a Grade 12 with English and Afrikaans or N2 Mathematics AND Physical Science

Do I need a drivers license

Yes, preferably. You must have a Drivers License with a Code 8.

Will I receive a salary?

Yes, all our Apprentices receives a salary while in their training.

Will I be limited in my career path?

No, you can choose what Career path you want to choose.

Will there be room for growth?

Yes, if a specific career path is available and we fee that you can filter into a different position, then we will help you get into that position.

How Long will it take to know if I have been chosen?

Once the deadline closes, we filter through all the applicants and then let you know within a few weeks.
